The surge in novel coronavirus infection has taken a frightening proportion as Uttar Pradesh has recorded 15,353 positive cases and 67 fatalities in the past 24 hours, forcing the state administration to enforce restrictions which include closing down of schools and penalising people not following Covid guidelines.
