Expressing satisfaction over the drop in the number of active Covid cases in the state by 22,000 in the last 17 days, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath asked the people not to lower the guard, saying all efforts should be made to break the chain of infection.

He said that no effort should be spared to increase the Covid recovery rate in the state.

On Sunday, 3,930 fresh coronavirus positive cases were reported across the state taking the tally to 4,14,466 while 5,226 COVID-19 patients recovered. With the recoveries in the last 24 hours, 3,62,052 coronavirus infected people have been cured in the state.

Presiding over a high-level Unlock review meeting at his official residence here on Sunday, the chief minister asked officials to pay more attention to those districts from where more coronavirus positive cases were being reported. “In the first phase, go for the geographical mapping of the districts where more than 100 cases are being reported every day and identify the high-incidence clusters. In the next phase, districts with 50 or more cases should be taken up,” he said.

The chief minister said that containment zones should be marked in identified clusters to ensure effective infection control. He said every person in a cluster should be tested and home delivery of essentials should be arranged.

The chief minister took stock of the Covid situation in Lucknow and Kanpur Nagar and directed the nodal officers of these districts, the additional chief secretary (Panchayati Raj) and Principal Secretary (Health) to chalk out an effective strategy to check the spread of coronavirus.

“Maintain communication with the home-isolated patients and patients admitted in hospitals through CM Helpline to get feedback on their condition. It raises their confidence and helps in building faith in the system,” Yogi said.

He also asked people to study the treatment pattern of recovered COVID-19 patients and use it in future as a reference point.

Laying emphasis on dialogue, the chief minister said that any situation would be diffused by effective communication.

He directed the police officials to ensure total sensitivity and promptness in cases related to women, girls and Scheduled Castes/ Scheduled Tribes.

Asking officials to ensure proper arrangements at the paddy purchase centres, the chief minister said that the payment made to the farmers should not be less than the minimum support price (MSP) in any circumstances.

He also insisted that the farmers should be made aware of the need for drying and cleaning of the paddy before bringing it to the purchase centres.

Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said during the past 17 days the number of active patients had come down by around 22,000. He said on Sunday, the number of active patients stood at 46,385 while the number of recovered patients was 3,62,052.
