Chief minister Yogi Adityanath continued his attack on the Opposition in general and Samajwadi Party in particular, alleging that the country needed ‘nationalist’ and not `socialist’ leaders.
Yogi also appealed to agitating Siksha Mitras to have patience and avoid violence and assured them that the state government would find out ways to resolve their problem after the Supreme Court rejected their plea.
Replying in the Budget debate in the legislative Council on Friday, Yogi slammed SP chief Akhilesh Yadav for asking India not to take a tough stand against China.
“The statement of the SP president is objectionable where he tried to glorify China. It only proves that the country needed nationalists and not Socialists. Nationalists can cure communal strife and these Socialists should learn the way to become a nationalist,” he commented.
Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav had said in the Council that India should not take China head-on remember the 1962 war fiasco.
Further attacking Akhilesh, the CM said that he always criticised his father but everyone knows that he could ascend the top post due to his father Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Cricitising the Opposition for boycotting the Budget session of Assembly, Yogi said that the Opposition members were afraid of hearing the truth and hence they ran away from facing the House.
However, the CM seemed concerned about violence by agitating Shiksha Mitras in the state and appealed them not to take law into their hands.
“The previous BSP and SP governments are responsible for the present crisis after the SC ruling. But the present regime will find ways to resolve the matter in accordance with the court decision,” he said.
Talking about his four-month old government’s achievements, Yogi said that the government worked for the farmers and announced the farmloan waiver scheme which would be distributed by him in lucknow on August 16.
However, leader of the Opposition Ahmed Hassan blamed the present BJP government for the problems of Shiksha Mitras, charging that lakhs of youth have been rendered unemployed. Hassan alleged that the government tried to insult Opposition members in the Assembly by showing recovery of explosives from the Opposition bench. He also pointed out that the Yogi government ended Samajwadi Pension and other schemes meant for the poor of the state.
Earlier, the Question Hour was disrupted with agitated members of SP, BSP and Congress creating a din by rushing to the Well of the house raising slogans against the government and blaming it for the plight of Siksha Mitras.
Hassan claimed that since the government did not pursue the matter properly in Apex Court, hence it handed out an adverse decision against Siksha Mitras. The Opposition Bench also blamed the government for trying to crush the voice of Siksha Mitras by using baton on them.
As the din continued, Chairman Ramesh Yadav first adjourned the House for 20-minutes and later till 12 in the noon. However as the protest continued, the House was further adjourned for another 30 minutes.
Congress MlC, Deepak Singh also blamed Yogi for using foul language against Opposition members and justified the walk out from the House claiming that Opposition members had some dignity so why would they come to hear threats from the Chief Minister.
