Uttar Pradesh congress, which held a massive demonstration to observe Viswasghat Diwas (Betrayal Day) on the fourth anniversary of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the Centre here on Saturday, had made a direct attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi comparing him with German dictator Adolf Hitler.
“Under this Modi regime the country in four years has gone backward by 40 years and the dictatorial attitude of the PM has weaken the democratic set up of the country,” alleged State Congress president Raj Babbar while comparing Modi with Hitler. “Hitler always said to his people that Good Times would come and India had got a similar leader four years back when Narendra Modi made repeated promise of bringing in Acche Din for the people,” pointed Babbar while adding that both Modi and Hitler project that if only they could do anything or that whatever has been done in the country is their contribution.
Babbar, who was detained by police along with hundred of party workers in the state capital when they were taking out a protest march against the fourth anniversary of the NDA government, told reporters here on Saturday evening that the country has suffered a lot in the NDA regime and now people want its ouster.
He also challenged that any four year rue of the Congress regime in the past was better than this four years regime of Modi.
On the occasion the Congress also released a booklet ‘India Betrayed’ in four years of BJP’s misrule. Babbar said BJP cannot name any crop that has given the farmers one and a half time money of their investment even as over 50,000 farmers have committed suicide in last four years. He also questioned the BJP about two crore jobs and why they are not disclosing the Rafle defence deal.
“Modi who used to speak his mind on maan ki baat has now going for maan ki daar ki baat”, he said.
Congress legislature party (ClP)leader Ajay Kumar lalu alleged that there is a conspiracy by the BJP to close down all the sugar mills even as the cane farmers dues in this crushing season has gone up to rs 1300 crores. “Import of sugar from Pakistan has severed a severe blow to the Indian sugar industry and it seems that the government was intentionally promoting it,” lalu said while apprehending that the sugar mills here in the State would soon closed down if corrective measures have been not taken. Congress leader in the Council, Deepak Singh too challenged Narendra Modi on the job issue of the youths and even questioned why the PM was not ready to accept the challenge of Congress president Rahul Gandhi. ``I challenged Narendra Modi to take the worst performance rule of a Congress’s Prime Minister and Compare it with his own four year tenure, I can say with full confidence that Congress rule will be 100 times more better than Modi’s regime’, asserted Deepak Singh. “Everybody is agitated and filling the pinch of the decisions taken by Modi’s government. Be it farmers, youth, Dalits, traders, cane growers, the widespread man, all are struggling in this government,” he pointed out adding that the people only suffered under the present NDA’s government regime and is now waiting to throw out Narendra Modi.
Earlier the local administration opened brutal lathi charge on the Congress leaders including Raj Babbar, Ajay Kumar lallu and Deepak Singh, when they took out a road show on bullock cart, tanga, cycles and pulling motorcycles to attract the public concern over rising petroleum prices and to expose the failure of Central government. The procession was part of Party’s observing fourth anniversary of the Prime Minister Narednra Modi government as “Vishwasghat Divas” or `Betrayal Day’. Babbar and others leaders were arrested by the police and taken to Hazratganj police station before being released. It may be mentioned that schedule press conference of Babbar at 2pm on Saturday was also postponed to 4:30 pm just as he and other leaders were taken in police custody.
