The jawans of the most disciplined force, Uttar Pradesh Police, seem to finally up in the arms against in-human treatment given to them by the seniors in the name of Rsduty’.
On Thursday, a big number of cops deployed on duty at highest security region around Ram lalla temple in Ayodhya at Faizabad, worn black badges to register their ire over the manner in which a police constable was not allow leave by senior officers forcing him to commit suicide under depression in Varanasi. Surprisingly, instead of taking the matter seriously, senior police officials of Faizabad, in their report to director general of police claimed that it was just 30 per cent of the force deployed for security in Ayodhya, who worn black badges in protest.
According to reports from Faizabad, about three dozen of constables, jawans of B-company of 48th battalion of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) who too were camping in Ayodhya, along with some head-constable and two of the sub-inspectors, who were already agitated for not getting leave or even allowances, had decided to register their protest after they learnt that one of their colleague was denied leave permission in Varanasi which forced him to commit suicide. The cops as a mark of protest wear black badges during their duty on Thursday. The local officials informed the above move to their senior bosses here at DGP office for so for no cognizance has been taken in the matter.
Meanwhile, upset with the punishment which a constable got from his bosses after he remained absent from duty without taking permission, the victim reportedly hanged himself with the ceiling of his house in depression in Etah. Sources said that the cops appraised his senior verbally about his family problem due to which he could not report on duty but still he was punished.
Reports said that 28-year-old constable Saroj Yadav, a resident of Dullapur in Auchha in Mainpuri, was posted at Kotwali Etah. Reports said that he took leave without taking prior permission which agitated his bosses and they summoned and punished him for his act. Depressed Saroj, later returned to his residence and hanged himself to commit suicide on Wednesday night. A case has been registered in this regard and body was sent for post-mortem examination.
