Close on te heels of killing of a constable driver of a deputy SP by unknown criminals who also looted his carbine in Saharanpur, yet another attack was made on the police party in Bareilly claiming life of one of the cop late on Friday night. The incident took place when the cops went to nab a hardened criminal.
later local police which managed to nab one of the miscreants launched a massive hunt for the remaining criminals including the gang leader. This is the second attack on cops in Bareilly in the same locality. last time also the miscreants challenged them by opening indiscriminate fire on March 21 last in which also the cops were injured and the miscreants reportedly belonging to same gang managed to escape safely.
Reports said that constable Satish, posted at Urasiya police outpost of Cantt police station and constable Vishwabandhu, posted at Bhauwapur police outpost under the same police station passed on the message to the local station house officer that some miscreants were engaged in robbery at Uchauliya locality on late Friday night. The station house officer subsequently asked the cops of the police outpost to rush to the spot and he along with his team members and sub-inspector Madan lal also left to lay a trap on the criminals.
Reports further said that the police team reached the spot and nabbed one Sarvesh Yadav, who is a hardened member of Chotu aka Karan Yadav gang. The cops also raided Karan’s residence and managed to nab his father Krishnapal Yadav, against whom a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) was already issued. The situation however took a violent turn when just after the cops huddled both the criminals in their jeep and tried to left for police station. About half a dozen of members of the same gang rounded them and opened indiscriminate fire. The police team immediately left the criminals in the jeep and claimed to have taken safe position to retaliate. But they failed to do anything and the criminals sprayed the constable driver Anirudh Yadav with bullets and managed to fled away along with Krishnapal.
Sarvesh Yadav also escaped but the cops somehow later on managed to held him back. Critically injured Anirudh Yadav was later taken to district hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead upon arrival. later a case in this this regard was registered with the Cantt police station and teams were formed to nab the prominent members of Karan Yadav gang along with him and his father. They also said to have sought help of sleuths of the Special Task Force (STF) in this regard.
