The Barabanki police arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a man whose body was recovered from Naveen Mandi premises in Kotwali police station area on August 6. The body of the victim was hanging from an overhead water tank when was spotted first.
Those arrested were identified as Amar Singh, his daughter and Rahul, all of Sambhal in Moradabad. They live in Safadarganj area and do menial job to eke out their livelihood.
After having ascertained the identity of the man as Raees (22) of Chaukhandi village under Safadarganj police station area of Barabanki, the police started the investigation. The autopsy report revealed anti-mortem injuries and thus annulled the police claim that the victim committed suicide.
The probing team furthered the investigation and it surfaced that the Raees was harassing Amar’s daughter for a long period of time taking advantage of their monetary crisis.
The police then picked up Amar and interrogated him. Amar owned up their crime and disclosed that he along with Rahul had killed Raees and hanged him to cover up their crime. The miscreants disclosed that they were sure that the police will consider the case as an incident of suicide. The police are further working on the case.
