The much hyped contact programme of Bharatiya Janata party proved a flop show as many senior leaders gave this maha sampark programme a miss giving “prior engagement” as reason for missing this programme. A senior leader told the Pioneer here on Friday that party president Dr l.K. Bajpai has sought details from the district presidents as who are the leaders who have skipped the mass contact programme.

“This is a serious issue. There was much publicity about these meetings. Party workers were eagerly awaiting senior leaders who were supposed to give them guidelines about party’s programmes but leaders did not reach there,” the leader said. The three day mass contact programme was launched from May 6 with an aim to educate the workers who will go for verification of new members of the party. These workers are supposed to tell these new members about the achievements of the Narendra Modi Government.

What has irked senior leadership that this programme was well publicized and it was organized on the first week of May after taking consent from them. “Everyone knew that mass contact programme will be held for three days from May 6 to 8. Directives were also issued from the office of party’s state president still these leaders ignored the directives,” the leader said. He said the complaint could also been lodged with party’s national president Amit Shah about laxity of party leadership.
