Congress workers led by party chief Sonia Gandhi’s reprersentative at her Parliamentary constituency in Rae Bareli, Kl Sharma staged a dharna to protest against the state government for not starting Out Door Patient (OPD) of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) atRae Bareli.

“The OPD at AIIMS is ready for operation for the last several months. But since the project was undertaken by local MP Sonia Gandhi when UPA government was in power, hence the Yogi government is not starting the services,” alleged Sharma while flaying the attitude of the state government.

Sharma led a massive demonstration along with other Congress leaders and workers to pressure the state government to start the OPD facility at earliest.

Congress spokesman Sanjay Bajpai said that besides raising the issue of AIIMS OPD, Sharma also criticised the government for giving step-motherly treatment to Rae Bareli as it was the constituency of Sonia Gandhi.

He alleged that the roads were in pathetic state, people were not getting power or water supply, no cleaniness drive was undertaken by the admninistration and people were facing several diseases due to government apathy.

Bajpai said that the local Congress leaders protested in Rae Bareli on Thursday and if the state government failed to address the isssues raised by them in Sonia Gandhi’s constituency, then party workers would march to lucknow and hold a massive demonstration to expose the government’s failures.
