Congress says State Govt suppressing Jewar rape charge

Published on:

Congress on Monday charged Yogi Adityanath government for using official machinery to suppress the rape charges just to hush up the sensational gang rape and loot of a family in Jewar. The Party also demanded a compensational package for the family besides early arrest of all the culprits.

``Yogi government had used the official machinery to hush up Jewar incident hence the local district police chief of Gautambudhnagar come on record to claim that the medical examination report denied rape charges as claimed by the five victims”, asserted Congress legislative Party (ClP) leader, Ajay Kumar `lallu’ who led a delegation of the Party which met the family members and the victims on Sunday. ``Why the Noida police not immediately got the victims medically examined when the victims reached the police station on fateful night”, questioned lallu alleging that all the five were first sent back home and only after passing of about 24-hours, the Noida police got them medically examined only to come out with denial of the rape allegation.

Talking to media persons here at Party state office on Monday afternoon, lallu said that the victims even in their statements recorded before the magistrate had confirmed of rape charges but the Noida police and the state government are not even ready to accept it. He said that heavy police force has been deployed on the house of the victim and every tactics has been used to force them to withdraw rape charges. Interestingly, lallu revealed that even victims were initially forced by the cops to level rape charges on their neighbors so that the case could be worked out immediately. However, the sinister plan of the police failed when senior residents of the area intervened and gave courage to the victims to withdraw fake charges on the neighbors.

lallu, who visited the entire village and adjoining areas, further claimed that Jewar incident was not an isolated case in the area. He said that some local villagers revealed that such incidents of loot or molestation are reported regularly but the cops forced the victims not to report the matter. He said just within a fortnight, a businessman identified as Manoj Jatav was looted at gun point after the criminals snatched Rs 2 lakh in cash. Similarly one retired DIG having farmhouse in Tappal, was looted off Rs 60,000 in cash and jewelery of same value. lallu said that about a week back, a couple was intercepted by criminals who looted cash and raped the woman. The Bulundshahr police, however, returned the cash to the couple and convinced them not to report the matter as it will only defame them.

On the night of May 25, eight members of a family were travelling to Bulandshahr to meet a relative at a hospital when five criminals allegedly raped the women of that group at gunpoint in a field off the Yamuna Expressway. One of the four men traveling with them was shot dead when he objected to the sexual assault.

Meanwhile lallu claimed that to look into the people grievances and also to help the Party workers and leaders to take up public issues at the right platform, he has decided that every MlA and MlC of the Congress will sit at UPCC office at least two days every month. lallu, who started sitting at Party state head-quarter on Monday afternoon, said that the public as well Party workers could come and meet the legislators and put up their problem which they will either forward it to the state government to ensure necessary action or will raise the issue on the Floor of the House to get it addressed.

He claimed that the Party had 7 MlAs and 2 MlCs so in all so they will be available for 18-days every month at the Party’s state head-quarter. lallu also revealed that very soon, they will also come on road to protest and highlight the failure of Yogi Adityanath’s government.
