Congress party leaders confused over lack in party's direction

Two days after mega show of strength Congress office wore a desolate look as the party leaders looked confused with lack of directions from senior leadership in Delhi about the future strategy.

“There is no clear cut direction from the new state president Raj Babbar whether a new committee would be formed or the old one would continue. After getting a big media mileage through a mega show on Sunday, the party should have cashed it on but unfortunately, for the past two days there is no concrete direction from the leadership,” a senior leader said on Tuesday.

There was confusion whether newly appointed state president Raj Babbar would come to lucknow soon to set the house in order. While some leaders say Babbar will come on Thursday while others say that he will come on Friday after attending Rajya Sabha session.

“Babbar would certainly come here by Friday evening and would finalise different issues related to the functioning of the state party unit,” a party leader said.

A high level source in the party said that the party leadership in New Delhi was interested in holding the rally this month only. “The party leadership which held a talk in New Delhi with Rahul Gandhi and other leaders have drawn up an elaborate strategy to continue its campaign in the state by holding a mega public rally very soon,” a senior party leader said here on Tuesday.

He said that the exact date of the rally would be announced later.  The rally would be held in lucknow and it would be addressed by Sonia Gandhi and Rahul ji. We want that Priyanka too should address this rally, he said adding that this rally should be held at the earliest because it is right time for Congress to make a move.
