Congress leaders and workers carry out Peace March

Published on:

Congress leaders and workers would leave New Delhi on the morning of July 26, to reach Kanth on the same afternoon and carry out Peace March, reportedly to counter the Bharatiya Janta Party BJP’s move to highlight the Kanth issue by holding demonstration in Moradabad on the same day. BJP has already announced to hold a march to Kanth Police station to register an FIR against SSP of Moradabad for atrocities on the arrested BJP activists.

Disclosing above here on Monday afternoon, chairman of the UP Congress Media Committee, Satyadeo Tripathi said that to make peace march a success, a high level meeting of senior leaders which included state president Nirmal Khatri, Congress legislative Party leader, Pradeep Mathur etc have been called in New Delhi on Monday morning by General Secretary of All India Congress Committee, Madhusudan Mistri, who is also incharge of the Party’s affair here in UP.

Tripathi said that both the leaders – Khatri and Mistri, would lead the peace march in Kanth on the ideologies of Mahatma Gandhi. He said
that they would leave New Delhi on the morning of July 26 and would reach Moradabad in the afternoon to carry out peace march. “Our march would be a peaceful one to counter the effort of the BJP to trigger communal violence in the state for political purpose like they did in
Muzaffarnagar,” Triapthi told reporters here. He blamed that the UP government has failed to control law and order in the state and they
are unable to deal with the BJP, which is trying to communalise the society by trying to repeat the Muzaffarnagar like incident in Kanth
also.
