Congress is `behal' : SP

Taking a jibe at the Congress for it’s `Bus Yatra’ and the recent slogan of `27 Saal UP Behal’, the ruling Samajwadi Party said that the programme shows that the Congress is `behal’ (distress) and not the people of UP.

SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said on Monday that by taking out the yatra, the Congress shows that it is in a state of distress as it was has been out of power in UP for 27 years. He said the yatra will make no difference on the poll prospects of Congress nor to the common people.

Accusing the Congress of being power hungry, Chaudhary said, “The desperation of Congress for power is beyond comprehension. They have forgotten their failure to develop the state despite four decades of uninterrupted rule in UP. Their long (mis)rule only ruined the state from which it is yet to recover from.”

The SP leader pointed out, “There is no political message for the comon people from the Congress ‘Yatra’.  All the Congress leaders have been asked to undergo the travel in one bus and the gathering of people around the bus at certain points is being misconstrued by the party as popular support. These people are only curious bystanders and pedestrians who are attracted towards the luxury coach.”

Chaudhary said that despite being the biggest state of the country, UP is still not free from then stigma of an economically backward state.  “When the people of UP were reeling under the tyranny of BSP-BJP regimes, then Congress leaders were enjoying the comforts of power in Delhi . Suddenly they have discovered the distress of the people of UP.  The Congress attempt on misleading the people won’t succeed as the latter are aware about their credentials,” said Chaudhary.
