Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati on Tuesday hit out at the Congress for misusing power in Madhya Pradesh and asking Uttar Pradesh voters to support the Bharatiya Janata Party to defeat the BSP-SP alliance.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Mayawati first slammed the Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh where a Bahujan Samaj Party candidate was forced to withdraw in support of Congress candidate in Guna Lok Sabha constituency.
“It is a gross misuse of official machinery in MP like BJP is doing elsewhere. Though the BSP candidate was forced to announce withdrawal from the contest in Guna seat against Congress but still the BSP will fight on its own symbol and reconsider its decision to support the Congress government in MP in near future”, she tweeted.
On Monday, BSP’s Guna candidate Lokendra Singh, pitted against Congress stalwart Jyotiraditya Scindia, withdrew his nomination from the election race.
Voting in Guna will take place on May 12.
In another tweet, Mayawati said, “Congress is campaigning and the essence is that let BJP win but the BSP-SP alliance should not win in UP. It shows the castiest and double standards of the Congress. Now the people are confident that only the BSP-SP alliance can defeat the BJP in UP but they should be aware of the conspiracy.”
