Congress flayed state government’s failure to hike minimum support price of sugarcane and non-payment of cane dues despite of orders of the High Court. The Party claimed to sat on a dharna at GPO Park at Hazratganj on coming Friday, to show their solidarity towards demands of cane growers and to pressurise the government to immediately resolve the issue so that cane growers could get some relief. Giving above details here on Tuesday afternoon, chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Media Cell, Satyadeo Tripathi said that Congressmen led by state president Nirmal Khatri would stage a dharna at the GPO park on November 21 to press demand of cane growers. He said that the Party would also protest against the delay in starting of crushing season by state sugar mills.
