Congress bent on destroying farming community: Yogi

Published on:

Comparing Congress with destruction, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that the people should not let “this destruction” rule India else the image of the country that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had built would be destroyed.

“(Congress chief) Rahul Gandhi has no idea of farming as once he had said that he would place tiles in fields. Congress is bent on destroying the farming community. There is a difference between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party. The Congress protects terrorists and feeds them ‘biryani’ whereas the BJP feeds them bullets. This has been possible only because Modiji is our Prime Minister,” Yogi said while addressing a rally in Mathura, the parliamentary constituency of actor-turned-politician and BJP MP Hema Malini.

Yogi said that Hema Malini had visited Mathura over 250 times during the past five years and asked whether Rahul or Sonia Gandhi had visited their constituencies Amethi and Rae Bareli, respectively, as many times.

“Hemaji has busted the myth that celebrities do not visit their constituencies after being elected. She has also worked for enhancing Mathura’s cultural and spiritual heritage,” he said.

“The Braj region is a holy pilgrim place for all of us and the BJP government has developed these places as the world wanted to see the spiritual and cultural aspects of these places,” Yogi said.

Elaborating on the success of his government, Yogi said that after the BJP came to office, he took three crucial resolutions. “First, crop loan waiver up to Rs 1 lakh of small and marginal farmers; second, shutting down illegal abattoirs; and three, formation of anti-Romeo squad for the safety of sisters and daughters. We fulfilled the promises and goons are either behind the bars or have been eliminated,” Yogi said.

Recounting the achievements of the Union government, Yogi said that all that had been done was possible due to Prime Minister Modi. “Modi hai, to mumkin hai,” he added.

Attacking the opposition, Yogi said that the public was aware of the misdeeds of Samajwadi Party and how it captured Jawahar Bagh in Mathura.

On the opposition alliance, Yogi said that it was “an alliance of thieves”.  “There is no co-ordination between SP and BSP. They have come together only because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The alliance will not be able to open its account in the general election,” he said.

Yogi said that Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati governments were very corrupt. “The BSP government sold 21 sugar mills and our government has vowed to set up as many factories as we will not let farmers suffer,” he said.

About Mathura, Yogi said that a new dairy would be opened in the district. “The government has a project to clean the river Yamuna, as we cleaned the Ganga,” he said.
