Congress adopted a noble idea now to reach to masses

After being drubbed badly in the recent general elections, youth wing of the Congress had adopted a noble idea now to reach to masses particularly youths who distant themselves from this longest serving national level political party.

They had chosen FM Radio to spread the achievement of Congress from freedom struggle to development taken up the Party in over five decade regime in the Central Government. However, to lure the public to get themselves updated particularly on success story of the Party, the Youth Congress is putting up one question every day on FM radio, and were giving movie ticket to 10 persons who were first to respond correctly. ``We are getting tremendous response and more and more youths are now taking interest in the quiz thus helping us to tell the public about the achievement and success of the Party, which they so far probably failed to inform to the masses particularly in Uttar Pradesh”, disclosed Ankit Parihar, president of the Youth Congress (Central Zone).

Talking to media persons here on Wednesday afternoon, Parihar said that not only movie tickets but they had now planned a big competition based on 100 questions (all related to policies and major decision taken by the Congress in welfare of the public along with questions related to contribution made by freedom fighters) on occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.

He said that to attract the youths to participate in the quiz, they had decided to give laptop, tablets, and mobiles phone and other gifts to the winners. However, to invite only senior participants they also fixed a nominal Rs 25 as entry free for the competition. He said that they started the programme from August 20, the day on which they celebrate anniversary of former prime minister, Rajeev Gandhi and would conclude on Gandhi Jayanti. He also claimed that if they get good response then this programme would be also launched in three other zones of the Youth Congress.

Meanwhile, chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC), Satyadev Tripathi, alleged that both central and state government are blaming each other on deteriorating power scenario in the State and were taking no steps to overcome the problem. ``On one side the public at large is facing worst every power crisis in the State, and on the other hand both Narendra Modi and Akhilesh Yadav’s government are engaged in blame game accusing each other for the trouble”, claimed Tripathi, while demanding that instead of fighting with each other, both the governments should take concrete step to give immediate relief to the public.

Tripathi said that the truth is that the in the last 25-years of non-Congress party government in the State, none of the government led by all the three political parties, which included BJP, SP and BSP, had not added a single unit of power generation. He said that due to this negligent approach of the other party’s governments, not only the people had to suffer but many industries also closed down due to shortage of power supply. He said that the law and order situation, economic scenario etc had also prompted big companies engaged in power generation, to keep themselves away from UP which also badly affected development of the state.
