Cong upbeat over Rahul leading lS poll campaign

Published on:

Even when the All India Congress Committee yet to decide whether Rahul will lead the Party in next Parliament elections as prime ministerial candidate or not, the Congressmen here were already upbeat with the move hoping that the Party’s campaign for United Progressive Alliance (UPA) hat-trick in the Centre would definitely get a new boost.

``Rahul is our leader in the Party but if he will accept to shoulder the responsibility of leading the UPA-111 government in the Centre now, the Party is definitely going to gain out of it as the workers will work with double energy to see Yuvraj as prime minister", claimed senior Congress leader Deepak Singh, who is presently nursing

the party in Rae Bareli and Amethi under the guidance of Priyanka Gandhi. He claimed that Rahul had full support of the Party as well as all other constituents of the UPA-11 so he must now come forward and lead the Party in the coming Parliament election as prime ministerial candidate.

Supporting Rahul’s candidature for prime ministerial post, Union Minister for External Affairs, Salman Khursheed, even went on to say on Thursday that those against it should leave the Party. Another union minister for coal, Beni Prasad Verma, claimed that Rahul Gandhi is the only eligible candidate in the country for prime ministerial post so whether he would announce as PM candidate or not, he is going to led the next Government at the Centre.

Verma claimed that the workers were in upbeat mood just with the news that Rahul is going to lead the Party as PM candidate in the coming polls so they will work with full devotion and double energy to see their youth scion leading the government in the Centre.

Interestingly the Congressmen were not ready to hear anything against Rahul Gandhi. When asked that Rahul is having no experience to lead the government than why workers were so keen to directly see him as PM, senior Congress leader Siddharthpriya Srivastava reacted strongly.

``When Bharatiya Janta Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi took charge as chief minister of Gujrat, he never remained in the Government in any capacity nor he even won any elections so why the Opposition particularly BJP is leveling such charges on Rahul that he is inexperience to hold the PM post", claimed Siddharthpriya Srivastava.  Rahul Gandhi is MP now for a long time and closely watch the activities of Congress led government in the Centre now for almost two full term so the question of his inexperience to lead the Country is only raised by those who fear that their Party would face a humiliating defeat if Rahul will lead Congress as prime ministerial candidate’, added Srivastava.
