Cong to target Modi's Govt in their demonstration

Keeping away the issues of deteriorating law and order, power tariff hike etc in Uttar Pradesh, Congress will just concentrate to target Narendra Modi led Central government during their proposal demonstration on July 22.

They will try to corner National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government on several issues which mainly included corruption and land acquisition Bill, to expose them in wake of upcoming Monsoon Session of the Parliament. The Party leaders will demonstrate till every panchayat level to make the people aware of National Democrative Alliance government’s “wrongdoings”.

“Congress workers will stage dharnas on July 22 and burn effigies of the suited-booted Narendra Modi government at every panchayats, village crossings, markets and other public places besides holding nukkad nataks (street plays) to make people aware of the wrongdoings of the Central government”, asserted State Congress President Nirmal Khatri. Disclosing about the Party’s plan of a massive demonstration against Central government scheduled for later this month, Khatri claimed here on Monday evening that they wanted to expose Modi’s failure and to corner him in the coming Monsoon Session of the Parliament which is set to begin on July 21.

“Tableaus will be taken out depicting the failures of the Modi government at district headquarter level”, he added. The protest would aim to oppose the anti-farmers amendments proposed in the land Acquisition Bill, inflation, corruption, inflammatory speeches by BJP leaders, slashing of funds for the schemes meant for social security and employment launched by UPA, growing cases of communal violence etc, Khatri asserted.

To questions on why Congress is concentrating only on Central government and not the SP which is in power here in the State, Khatri said the Party has been protesting against the state government form time to time. ``The people of the State have already made up their minds to vote Samajwadi Party out of Power in the 2017 Assembly Elections but we would still decide the Party’s agenda by coming October on how they should take on SP for it’s failure to fulfill poll promises”, Khatri quipped.

Answering to a question on the Party facing difficulties in showing its strength in the State despite a good leadership and ideology, Khatri said “The generation which raised the voice of Congress is no more and we did not cultivate the new generation which we are doing now.” He also admitted that they had no hands who can took the Party’s policies to the village level but now they had the Organisation even till the Panchayat level which would now help them to restore the past glory which the Congress had earlier on.
