Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi would create a new record of electoral defeats as his party would face defeats in the ongoing Assembly polls in five states. “After the results, Rahul Gandhi will set a new record of poll defeats as the Congress is definitely losing the Assembly elections in all five states. The people of the country have reposed their faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” said Sharma in Lucknow on Saturday.
“The impact of work done by the Prime Minister can be seen across the country. Various welfare works of the Centre have benefited the poor, farmers, deprived and marginalised sections of the society and have directly impacted their lives,” the Deputy CM said.
Sharma claimed that over 20 crore people had been directly or indirectly benefited from welfare schemes of the BJP-led Union government.
“Due to these, the BJP will form governments on its own in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan,” he said.
“In Mizoram, the Congress is going to lose, while pro-BJP forces will form the government there. As far as Telangana is concerned, the Congress’s ideology will come to an end. In other words, the Congress will be effectively wiped out from all five poll-bound states,” Sharma said.
While Assembly elections have been held in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana will go to the polls on December 7 and the results will be announced on December 11.
