Cong not capable of fighting communal forces: BSP

Ridiculing the statement of Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Ahmed Bukhari asking Muslims to support the Congress the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) said that the Congress does not have the might to fight communal forces.

"If Congress is capable of fighting communal forces, it would have stopped BJP’s march to power in Rajasthan. If Congress is so competenet why it failed to uproot BJP in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh," BSP spokesman said in a statement issued here on Friday.

''Only BSP can fight against the communal forces and during its last regime it has proved its capability when not a single communal riots took place,'' the spokesperson said.

"Everyone knows about the nexus between the SP and BJP in UP and it was proved during Muzaffarnagar riots," he said.

BSP however welcomed Bukhari's statement condemning Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh. "Samajwadi Party government in UP has lost the support of the people after it failed to protect the lives and properties of the people," he said.

.''But criticising BSP and lauding the Congress over its secular image shows about some conspiracy between the Shahi Imam and the Congress,'' BSP said.

Bukhari in a recent statement has appealed to the Muslims to support the Congress and reject SP and BSP in the lok Sabha elections.
