Cong never sincere towards minorities: SP

Published on:

Samajwadi Party has accused the Congress Vice president Rahul Gandhi of speaking in foul language against its leaders. SP has termed the party’s criticism by Rahul Gandhi as the case of `sour grapes’’. The ruling party of the state accused the Congress of  conspiring to spread anarchy in the state and break the unity of the farmers and poor for its narrow political ends. SP alleged that the Congress was never sincere towards the minorities, farmers and dalits.

"We expect dignity and sincerity in the statements from the vice president of the grand old party of India. His statements against the party are undignified and beyond the limits of decency.  Rahul Gandhi should learn from the Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav as even his political opponents  admire the chief minister for his humility and  dignified behavior towards all’’. Said the SP spokesman Rajendra Chowdhary in a statement here on Sunday.

"We sympathies with Rahul Gandhi for his helplessness and the resulting irritation caused by it. Congress has long been relegated to history in UP and people have forgotten this party. Congress is desperate to get some foot hold in the state so its leader is leveling baseless allegation against the leadership of the Samajwadi Party’’, said the Party spokesman Rajendra Chowdhary here on Sunday. He said adding`` before hurling charges against the SP he should ascertain the basic facts about the party, SP is not a party representing a particular caste  but it represents all sections of society and working for their uplift and welfare’’.

Accusing the Congress of ignoring the interests of the poor downtrodden, farmers and youth during its monopolistic rule in the country and UP, Rajend ra Chowdhary said the SP government has consistently worked for the deprived sections of the society.  SP leader said the performance of the successive Congress governmements were exposed by the Sacchar committee report about the minorities in the country. The committee was appointed by the Congress led UPA government itself, he added.

SP spokesman said the economic, social, education and the political status of the dalits is also known to all. Congress  during its over five decade long rule only shed crocodile tears for the dalits but did nothing for their welfare, charged the SP leader.

Accusing Rahul Gandhi of having a myopic vision, SP leader said `` it’s indeed strange to see that Rahul Gandhi cannot spot the all round development in the state   which have been praised by other state government’.  He said the Congress and its Vice President would never succeed to mislead the people by such statements against the Samajwadi party.
