After the Congress party accused the BJP governments at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh of hiding actual figures of Covid deaths and lying about medical facilities, the Uttar Pradesh unit of the party formed a fact-finding team on Thursday. The team has been asked to submit its report for further action.
UP Congress chief Ajay Kumar Lallu said that after getting the report, the party would expose the truth before the public. He alleged that the government had only engaged in propaganda in the name of facilitating medical care, vaccination etc and did not hesitate to conceal the actual number of Covid deaths. He said that the fact-finding team would be led by former minister Salman Khursheed while Magsaysay awardee Sandeep Pandey, former MP PL Punia, Congress Legislative Party Leader Aradhna Mishra ‘Mona’, former minister Pradeep Jain ‘Aditya’, national coordinator of ‘Jal Jodo, Jan Jodo’ campaign Sanjay Singh and Lenin Raghuvanshi would be the members. He said that the team would visit all districts to collect ground realities and submit its findings at earliest.
