Congress leaders on Friday met the family members of Sudeeksha Bhati and assured them of their full support to ensure justice. The Congress leaders also handed over a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the family members.

The delegation went to meet the family on the directions of All India Congress Committee general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and handed over a condolence message written by the AICC general secretary and expressed deep sorrow over the incident.

Party’s national secretary Rohit Chaudhary, who led the delegation, claimed that in her letter to the family, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said she was deeply agonised by the incident and the death of Sudeeksha, who was a bright and brave girl.

“I have listened to a few of her speeches. Sudeeksha was empathetic towards the challenges faced by girls. She was enthusiastic about girls’ education and committed to her family. Due to this very reason, she had made the country proud,” Priyanka said in the letter.

The Congress general secretary further mentioned in her letter that she could understand the deep sorrow and grief of the family. “I want to assure the family that you should not consider yourselves alone in the fight for justice to Sudeeksha. We are all standing firmly with you,” she assured.
