Cong charges SP & BJP of having secret pact

Published on:

State Congress unit once again charged the ruling Samajwadi Party and the Bharatiya Janta Party of having a secret pact, particularly on the matters related to communal harmony as both the Parties were trying to make political gain out of the conflict between members of two religions. “We are saying from the very beginning that leaders of both Samajwadi Party and Bharatiya Janta Party  are having a secret pact to disturb communal harmony and make political gain out of it”, charged chairman of the Media Committee of the Uttar Pradesh Congress, Satyadeo Tripathi, while reacting on State government’s move to withdraw case against union minister, Kalraj Mishra, registered in Philibhit.

“State government first withdraw case against BJP MP from Philibhit, Varun Gandhi, who not just violated the model code of conduct but was involved in hate speech, which had disturbed the communal harmony”, pointed Tripathi while accusing the SP government for just cheating the people of taking strong measures to check that no one could disturb communal harmony.

“Not just in the Varun’s case, but people had still not forgot that how some senior BJP leaders, who even won last Parliament elections had created communal disturbance leading to worst ever communal riot in the Western Uttar Pradesh, in which besides several deaths, thousands of families were rendered homeless”, further asserted Tripathi while adding that State government had always adopted very soft approach against the BJP leaders and facilitated them to go scot free. Tripathi claimed that decision to withdraw case against Kalraj Mishra is just one another glaring example that how the leaders of SP and BJP were going together as far as the issue of disturbing communal harmony and making political gain out of it.

Meanwhile, spokesperson of the state unit of Bharatiya Janta Party, Vijay Bahadur Pathak said here on Monday that the claim of the BJP leader Kalraj Mishra has been finally vindicated by the State government’s act. “ Mr Mishra was repeatedly saying that he was not there when the violence took place and neither was involved in any kind of violation of the law,” Pathak asserted while claiming that the allegations on Mishra were baseless.
