Cong blames Centre of vendetta politics

Published on:

Upset with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s move to disband the proposed National Centre for Vehicle Research and Safety (NCVRS) project at Amethi, the Congress lodged a protest and accused the Centre of engaging in vendetta politics.

The Centre had informed the UP government of its decision to ‘surrender’ a plot in Trisundi (Amethi) which was to house the NCVRS project.

The reason for the Centre’s decision to disband the project was cited as : “The NCVRS facilities need not be concentrated at a single location.”

Incidentally, it is the third project at Amethi to be shelved by the BJP government after it came to power in 2014. The other two projects were the Shaktiman Mega Food Park and the Hindustan Paper Mill.

Congress leader from Amethi and MlC, Deepak Singh told the media on Friday that the Modi government was acting as an ‘enemy’ of the people of Amethi and Rae Bareli and engaging in ‘vendetta politics’.

“The BJP won 73 lok Sabha seats from the state but the Centre’s action proves that it was working against the interest of the state. While Amethi and Rae Bareli has been treated like ‘untouchables’ by the Modi government, the other parts of the state have been completely ignored,”Singh commented.

Singh said that the people of the state will give a befitting reply to the BJP in the 2017 Assembly polls in UP.
