Cong, BJP slam SP on laptop distribution scheme

Both the two national parties Congress and Bharatiya Janta Party attacked Samajwadi Party on free laptops distribution  issue and had also criticised Akhilesh Yadav for his comment that his government is going to take no action  regarding misuse of the scheme particularly by the beneficiaries.

``We are saying from the very beginning that free laptops to students will be only misused as it was given without  looking into the need of the beneficiary as well as before ensuring proper electricity or internet availability etc",  alleged spokesman of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) Zeeshan Haider while flaying the  ambitious scheme of Samajwadi Party here on Saturday evening. He claimed that there are charges of large scale  corruption like money to take to forward the benefit or demanding bribe to enter the name of students in the list of  candidates who would be given the laptops etc. Congress spokesman said that in many areas, the students could not  use the laptops just as they were not having electricity to recharge it.

Further taking on chief minister over his remarks on Friday that he will took no action against misuse of the laptops by  students, Zeeshan Haider said that his Party was saying this from the very first day that the laptops are not useful for  many students until they get light and internet. ``In absence of light, internet connections or even any use of laptops,  students finds no other better option than to sold it in the market and get some money in return", Zeeshan said  adding that now even Akhilesh Yadav had realised his mistake hence he went on to claim that his government  would not initiate any action though they could easily confirm that which students had sold the laptop.

Grabbing the opportunity to attack Samajwadi Party, spokesman of the BJP Manoj Mishra said that Akhilesh  Yadav was now trapped in his own promise made to come in power in the state. ``Akhilesh Yadav knew that laptops were mostly misused but he was now trapped in his own promise as if he stops distribution than it would irk remaining students and if took action against misuse than his Party would lose the benefit which they were hoping to once again receive during coming Parliamentary elections alleged spokesman of the BJP, Manoj Mishra.

Further taking on SP, BJP spokesman said now when the truth behind benefit of laptops given to students already stand exposed, Akhilesh Yadav should tell that when he will start free tablets distribution to high school pass students. ``Now almost 20-months had passed off SP coming to power on promise of free tablets to high school  pass students so Akhilesh Yadav should tell that when his Government will start it’s distribution", BJP spokesman  demanded.
