Grabbing the opportunity over Mulayam Singh Yadav's warning to State government against any complacency, the two national parties - Congress and Bharatiya Janta Party had flayed Akhilesh Yadav and said that now the only solution left is that chief minister should step down and pave for someone other or Presidents rule should be imposed in the State. They claimed that mere realization by SP supremo that his party is losing ground in the State due to misconduct of some ministers or failure of state government would not give any relief to the public.
How many times will Mulayam Singh Yadav warned government run by his own son and now his statement that samajwadi Party had nothing to do with the government clearly pointed that SP supremo had lost confidence in Akhilesh Yadav but he was hapless to do anything hence he tried to maintain distance from his son’s failure", claimed senior Congress leader Siddharth Srivastava while reacting to Mulayam Singh Yadav’s comment over his own Party government. "How can the party which runs the government escape from its responsibility" he questioned adding that Mulayam often makes such statement about ministers and even on Chief Minister of his party's government but who has stopped him from correcting them. If Akhilesh or his council of ministers were not delivering their responsibilities than Mulayam should come forward and correct them instead of disowning his Party’s government", Srivastava said adding that the public will correst their mistake done by them during last Assembly elections when they vote for Parliamentary elections.
Alleging that Mulayam expresses gratitude towards BJP and VHP, Srivastava said, "This is the reason why morale of the communal forces are high. This is the first government in the country which has lost its credibility in such a short time," he said while asking Mulayam that he should either ask his son to step down or let the Governor to dismiss State government so that people should get some relief for the misrule of Samajwadi Party.
On Saturday Mulayam warned Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his cabinet colleagues against any complacency, saying the electorate were very wise and their satisfaction was the key for party's success in the lok Sabha polls. The former Chief Minister said "so far" people of the state seemed satisfied with the work of the SP government. "We have launched a number of schemes... It is right, but I want to tell my colleagues, whether you will send me toDelhi with strength or alone," he said.
Meanwhile reacting to the above remarks, chief spokesman of the Bharatiya Janta Party Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that Mulayam's statement that people should not punish SP for mistakes of party ministers and MlAs was "laughable". "In the last Assembly elections people voted in favour of SP, therefore the party has to face the consequences of its representatives," he said. Mulayam has started realising that the people are going to punish him in the lok Sabha polls, Pathak said, adding "wary of this, he (Mulayam) is asking the people not to punish him for the mistakes of SP MlAs."
