A girl student of class 11 at a private school was raped for months and blackmailed by a computer operator of her institution in Maharajganj before he was arrested on Wednesday.
A case against the accused was registered with Paniyara police station for repeatedly raping the minor after blackmailing her through a sex clip.
As per reports, the accused raped the minor girl a couple of months back and recorded a video of the lecherous act. Taking leverage through the sleazy video, the miscreant forced the victim into submission by threatening to upload the video on social media, and continued to rape her at his will.
In the last week of August, when the girl refused to cooperate further, the accused uploaded the video on the internet and it went viral. On watching the viral video, the girl and her parents filed a complaint with Paniyara police station, demanding strict action against the accused and the school administration. The miscreant was finally arrested by the police on Wednesday.
In her statement recorded with the police, the victim, a student of class 11, said that the accused was a computer operator at her school and he first raped her by intoxicating her in the school premises and the rapist recorded a video of the incident and used it to blackmail her. She said when she refused to co-operate after a few months, he uploaded the video on social media.
In August, another video went viral in which the manager of the her school was seen in an obscene position with a girl.
SP of Maharajganj, Pradeep Gupta said that the matter was being investigated and strictest action will be taken against all those found guilty during the probe.
Earlier on August 24 last, National Commission for Women (NCW) organised a women's public hearing at Maharajganj Police Lines which was chaired by NCW member Chandramukhi Devi. Reacting on the development, she said that there should be no laxity in matters related to crime against women and also gave out a helpline number 7827170170 for women to seek assistance in filing cases and fighting for justice.
Meanwhile in Ballia, a 17-year-old girl was abducted by a local identified as Sultan on August 25 and repeatedly raped. The victim later told the police that after raping her over several days, Sultan freed her on August 30 after which she reached home. The victim's father had earlier lodged an FIR alleging her abduction.
The accused was arrested by the police on Tuesday and the girl was sent for medical examination.
