To ensure that people of the state remain healthy and to curb spread of communicable diseases in monsoon, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed officials to organise a statewide communicable disease control campaign from the month of July.

Addressing a high-level meeting with senior officials on Saturday, the chief minister said, “Ensure all preparations to launch the communicable disease control campaign across the state from July. Under the campaign, educate the rural population about measures to prevent communicable diseases, as well as, start mass-scale fogging and sanitisation.”

The communicable disease control campaign, starting from July, will be rolled out in all 75 districts to educate people about measures to prevent communicable diseases. Under this campaign, health workers will go door-to-door to identify patients with viral fever, vector-borne diseases, and other symptoms.

Yogi said, “Patients should not face any kind of inconvenience at government health setups in all districts. No patient should return from the hospital unattended.”

The government has also ordered to ensure inter-departmental coordination in order to make the implementation of the campaign successful. It will be making foolproof arrangements, including state-wide surveillance campaigns, spraying of anti-larva chemicals under extensive mass-scale sanitation, fogging, and cleanliness drives, to ensure the safety of the state’s people.

Under the communicable disease control campaign, awareness drives will be carried out particularly to enlighten the people residing in villages and other rural areas about the ways in which communicable diseases are transmitted and also about various measures to check their spread.
