Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the benchmark for his government’s governance is Kalyan Singh’s regime where law and order was the best and delivery system was smooth and transparent.

“When we need to pick any administration which should be our benchmark, only one name comes to the mind. That is of Kalyan Singh. We want to replicate the achievements of that regime. The then CM not only improved law and order but also ensured that benefits of government schemes reached each beneficiary,” Yogi said while laying the foundation of a solid waste management project in Aligarh on Monday.

The CM said that his government was committed to providing better lifestyle to masses including better roads, quality power and clean environment. “The beginning has been made by initiating projects to manage solid waste. We have proposals where we will generate power from waste. But for that we need to segregate domestic, industrial and medical waste,” he said.

“Aligarh has a capacity to manage 300 tonnes of waste but this should increase to 1000 tonnes so that we can generate power from this waste,” the CM said while laying the foundation of the Rs 200 crore waste management project.

Yogi said, “The Prime Minister dream of `Shreshta Bharat’ and this can only be achieved by keeping our environment clean. Uttar Pradesh is a big state and we need to take the lead to fulfill PM’s dream. This we can achieve only through people’s participation. We need to make the state Open defecation free.”

The Chief Minister also spoke on industries and said that his government was committed to extending all possible help to industrialists. “Traditional industries like lock manufacturing or brassware needed to be promoted. We will showcase these industries at the global platform so that people could know about them,” he said.

Yogi also met with officials and reviewed development projects. “Improving law and order is our priority and we will ensure that the rule of law prevails in Uttar Pradesh. Oficials should implement the directives of the government,” he said and also cautioned that his government will not hesitate to take action against lax officials.
