Even when Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath clearly directed that stern action be initiated the mafia especially those grabbing government property, officials of lucknow Muncipal Corporation were reportedly patronizing a land shark who grabbed a public road.
Interestingly, instead of evicting the mafia to clear the passage for their newly constructed multi-storyed apartment near SGPGI, the lMC damaged the boundary wall of Omaxe City colony to use the colony road.
Finding that the lMC move posed a serious threat to their security, residents of Omaxe City appealed to officials concerned and got the wall repaired. But after coming to terms with the fact that the lMC, instead of removing encroachment, was illegally trying to use the colony road approached the High Court seeking justice.
While lMC officials claimed that they have registered a case against the land mafia with Ashiyana police station, Station House Officer (SHO) of Ashiyana, Triloki Singh told ‘The Pioneer’ there has been no such move by the lMC.
Residents of Omaxe City colony situated adjacent to Saheed Path said that lMC started construction of a multi-storyed colony `Aurangabad Khalsa Group Housing’ between SGPGI and Omaxe City.
A 25-feet road lead to this place and connected it to Saheed Path. However, as some local mafia had grabbed the road in the name of `Gaushala’, the lMC took no action to ‘disturb’ them.
The residents claimed that some days back, they found that the lMC razed a six-feet high boundary wall to connect the passage to their housing society using Omaxe Colony road. They said that by indulging in the act, the lMC officials sompromised their security. They said that they got the wall re-constructed and apprised lMC officials about it.
But since then, the lMC has been trying to grab the Maxe Colony road instead of evicting the land shark and initiating legal action against him. The residents have now now moved the High Court and sought a stay but still the lMC was adamant to grab their road.
Residents also claimed that after they moved court, the lMC officials told them that they have registered a case against the mafia who grabbed their land. But when Ashiyana police was contacted in this regard on Saturday evening, the SHO denied of any such move by the lMC brass.
