Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath warned unscrupulous elements planning to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere to mend their ways or face the wrath of the government.
“We will not allow another Kairana and Kandhla to happen in west UP anymore. People with vested interests are out to consign west UP to the throes of communalism and casteism. Let me assure you there will be no riots like Muzaffarnagar again,” Yogi said, addressing a virtual meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party office-bearers of booths, divisions and sectors of Bulandshahr Assembly constituency set for bypoll on November 3.
The chief minister further said that such elements were the ones who bred on communalism and anti-social manifestations. “My government is identifying them one by one and will surely take them to task,” he said.
Invoking Chaudhary Charan Singh on the occasion, Yogi said that the late leader was the real sympathiser of farmers while for others, the farming community was merely a vote bank.
Hitting out at the previous Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party regimes in the state, the chief minister said that if they were concerned about farmers’ interests, why was Ramala sugar mill, closed for over 30 years, not revived.
“Similarly, why did these governments not upgrade Mohiuddinpur sugar mill. It was the BJP government that came forward and did it for the farmers,” he said.
Yogi added that his government had made payments of Rs 1.6 lakh crore to the cane farmers in the last three-and-half years.
“We were able to achieve this as a leader from west UP was made cane minister,” he said.
The chief minister made it clear that ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vishwas Aur Sabka Bharosa’ was not merely a slogan for the BJP, it was a commitment.
“Unlike the previous regimes which used to extend relief to people on the basis of caste, religion and region, the BJP government has believed in transparency and impartiality,” he added.
Yogi said that the recent developmental initiatives across the state were going to benefit Bulandshahar in a big way.
“The Ganga Expressway, the longest in the country, will pass through Bulandshahar while the proposed Jewar international airport and film city will also be coming up in the vicinity,” he said.
