Wishing people a happy and prosperous new year, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that with the help of people, his government would take Uttar Pradesh to new height in 2019 with the influx of new infrastructure projects and implementation of welfare schemes.
“The aim of the government will be to improve the quality of life of the people by providing them better amenities,” the Chief Minister said in a written statement issued here on Monday.
He said the government was committed to providing better facilities to the farmers. He pointed out that the government had waived crop loans of farmers and had introduced schemes to double the farm income by 2022. “The new year will witness introduction of new schemes which will focus on redressal of farmers’ problems at the earliest,” the Chief Minister said.
Elaborating on the government schemes, Yogi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working on the philosophy of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas (inclusive development) and the UP government was following this mantra in letter and in spirit.
Yogi said the development brought in by the government was now being witnessed on the ground. He said under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, over 18 lakh people had been given houses and 2.5 lakh latrines had been constructed. Besides, he said, over one crore people had been given free electric connections under Saubhagya scheme and 90 lakh women had been provided free LPG connections under the Ujjwala Yojana.
“These beneficiaries were identified without considering their caste or creed. Whosoever fits into the government scheme has been identified and extended help,” the Chief Minister said.
In health sector, the Chief Minister said, 13 new medical colleges were coming up while AIIMS would be opened in Gorakhpur and Rae Bareli and under Ayushmaan Bharat Yojana, over five lakh people would be given free health treatment.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the achievements in the education sector which include free text books, food, sweaters and bags to students.
“The biggest achievement of last year was conduct of cheating-free examinations and this will continue in 2019 too,” Yogi said.
He also talked about industrial development and ODOP (One District One Product) scheme launched by the government.
