Treming the Kairana isue a political stunt, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that people leave their homes in search of jobs and it does not necessarily mean exodus but the BJP has added a political colour to it to gain mileage in the forthcoming Assembly elections.
“look at New Delhi. People from all over the country migrate there in search of jobs. Is it exodus IJ Similarly, people are going to metros like Mumbai in search of job - can it be termed as migration IJ In Kairana too, people moved out to nearby areas in search of jobs. But the BJP has given it a political twiost,” Yadav said during a rally after laying the foundation of several projects in lakhimpur Kheri on Monday.
Yadav said that everywhere tyhe administration wants that people should come and settle in their area. “But parties like BJP are questioning natural migration. Can any government stop anyone from shifting base to a neighbouring city or state because he got a good job or a good opportunity in that city,” querried Yadav.
“The SP has created a positive atmosphere in the state for investments. Many private players have initiated the process of setting up their shops across UP. The BJP canard is aimed at giving a bad name to the SP government and UP. It wants that private players should refrain from investing in the state. The whole drama is aimed at the coming Assembly polls. Before lok Sabha polls too, the BJP divided the society in the name of Muzaffarnagar riots and now they have come up with Kairana,” said the CM.
Yadav said that the list presented by the BJP on Kairana exodus was false. The district administration has found big holes in their claim as many people who figured in that list have either died or have shifted base 15 years back.
“The need of the hour is to have a debate on the issue. All parties should air their views whether people moving out in search of job is exodus,” Yadav said.
The BJP has however accepted this challenge as its spokesman Vijay Bahadur Pathak said that if the BJP’s list is fake, then the government should come out with its own list.
“Why is the CM concealing the truth. The team of saints it had sent to Kairana too admitted that people left the place due to fear. That’s exactly what the BJP has been saying. This exodus is linked with law and order issue but the CM has failed to acknowledge,” he said.
Meanwhile, the CM declared that the government will open vacancies in police, education and health sectors. He spoke at length about the progress of the state during tyhe SP regime. He also spoke on transition in power sector, health sector and education sector.
“Our government has given laptops and built roads. Farmers are getting good remunerative prices for their produce. Private players are willing to invest in UP,” he said adding: “My Government is doing its bit but parties like the BJP are playing spoil sport.”
