Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that religion teaches a person about importance of good conduct in public life and religious tales including Ram Katha connect us with good virtue.
“The word Ram has great attraction as lord Rama has taught us how to protect our Mother and Mother land. A destitute believes his worries would cease if he utters lord Ram’s name and this has come true,’ Yogi said while inaugurating a week-long Ram katha Gyan Yagya which started in Gorakhpur on Sunday.
He said every day thousands of Ram Katha are held across the country. There must be some attraction in this name which attracts people towards them. “The Ram katha is a story of valor which explains how lord Rama protected His motherland,” he said.
During that meeting he also talked about flood that has ravaged parts of eastern UP. Distributing food, clothing and giving shelter to these flood ravaged people is also a `sewa’ . People in Kushinagar, Maharajganh, Gorakhpur, Sidharthnagar and Deoria came out in large number to help these people.
“This unprecedented `manav sewa’ has set a new example in this area. And the spirit of manav sewa came from dharma only,” Chief Ministers said.
