Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav kicked up a small political storm by showing a video clipping of an officer taking bribe during on-going IAS Weekon Friday. Yadav, while addressing the officers on the inaugural session of the IAS week here, showed a video clip of a BDO taking bribe which was sent to him on his WhatsApp account.

Reacting sharply on the chief minister’s move to embarrass the IAS community, spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janta Party state unit, Chandra Mohan, termed it as a Rschildish act’ on part of Akhilesh Yadav and demanded that the Chief Minister should disclose the name of the officer who was in the video clip and what action has been taken against the said officer.  He further questioned that why was the CM waiting for the IAS week to show the clipping. “UP police had been showing several video clippings about their claims in controlling crime and now CM too have taken the same route to get publicity,’’ Mohan said.

On the other hand, Congress spokesperson, Amarnath Agarwal too raised suspicion over the video clipping. ‘’The CM has all the power then why was he showing the clipping without taking any action against the said officer,’’ Agarwal questioned.
