Cracking a disciplinary whip Chief Minister suspended two senior panchayat officials and ordered transfer of Additional Director Health in Amroha for dereliction of duty as he gave a stern warning to officials not to rely on “figures” instead ensure implementation of the schemes at ground level.

The action was taken in the review meeting of Amroha on Friday where he showed his annoyance at the working of Jal Nigam, Panchayati Raj, Electric distribution, Mandi Samiti and ICDS departments and asked officials to improve working in a time bound manner.

But he ordered suspension of District Panchayat Raj Officer (DPRO) and ADO Panchayat for not appointing safai karamcharis in villages and non-payment of honorarium to the voluntary workers working in Swachch Bharat Abhiyan. He also ordered transfer of Additional Director Health for not able to answer queries about prevailing health system there.

When he enquired about the power situation and was told that Chief Engineer (Electricity), Moradabad was absent he asked Divisional Commissioner to seek an explanation from him for his absence.

“The BJP government is committed to speed up development in Uttar Pradesh. Action would be taken against lax officers. The officers should hold camps under the Gram Swaraj Abhiyan so that beneficiaries could get the benefits of government schemes,” Yogi said adding that officers should visit villages so that they can understand the problems of the masses.

It was second meeting of Chief Minister with officials of Amroha districts. He also had a meeting yesterday where he launched projects worth Rs 3727 lakh. On Friday he had a second round of interaction with the officers with a focus on law and order.

“Improve law and order is the priority of the government. Take action against land grabbers. Increase foot-patrolling across the districts. The beat constables should be in touch with their superiors. Police action should be effective and should so that people can have a faith on police,” he said adding: “The police should be soft with common man on the street but should be tough with the criminals.”

He also had detailed discussion with officials on PDS and power officials on electricity availability. He asked officials to transfer scholarship of students twice in a year – on October 2 and January 26. Officials were also asked to improve water supply system in this summer so that people could get drinking water.

“The redressal system should be strong and this can be effective only if the officers meet people regularly. Develop compassion for the poor, downtrodden and dalits. Ensure these people get the benefits of the government schemes,” he said.

later in the day he held a meeting in Bulandshahar where he inaugurated projects worth Rs 100 crore. These projects mainly focused on water supply and linking villages with the state roads.

He also listened to problems in a chaupal and assured that their problems will be solved at the earliest. People complained about not getting ration or officials were not issuing certificates. CM asked officers to ensure problems are resolved at the earliest.
