Reiterating that his Government has fulfilled all poll promises Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that Samajwadi Party Government was committed for holistic development of the state so that rural and urban areas can gallop together to the path of progress.
“What we have achieved in three years no government can do it in even five years. We did not have resources nor we are getting any help from the centre, still our government has implemented development projects and ensured that its benefits reach people,” Yadav said reporters in Unnao on Friday. Yadav had gone to Unnao to attend a marriage function. Chief Minister said that Government has initiated programmes to extend a social security umbrella to poor and down trodden. The Samajwadi Pension scheme has brought smiles on the faces of 45 lakh families. The Government is also working to help students and farmers. Our progress is holistic, he said.
“The Government is giving free medical help to poor. They are not only getting free medicines but pathological tests are also carried out free of cost. The 102 and 108 ambulance services have been a great hit. The poor living in far flung areas can not get quality treatment as they can now reach hospitals at the earliest time,” he said. Yadav also talked about the push his government has given to infrastructure projects. The Agra-lucknow Expressway mirrors the will of this government. This highway will not only cut commutation time but also bring development across the highway as farmers’ mandis will come up across there. “The farmers will now get ready-made market where they will be able to sell their produce. Once these mandis become operational, it will be bye-bye to middle men,” he said. “Government has plans to speed up development but unfortunately state is not getting help from the central government. The center has not released adequate relief for the farmers who lost their crop in unseasonal rains,” he said.
Yadav also voiced government’s commitment to clean rivers like Ganga and Yamuna. These rivers will be clean only if our cities are clean. He appealed to common people to help the state government to keep their cities neat and clean.
