CM reminds PM to keep his promises

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi continued his tirade against PM Narendra Modi and demanded that he should not keep quite over corruption charges made against his cabinet colleague. He reminded Modi to keep his promise and order a probe into the allegations instead of persecuting the whistle blower.

“The PM had said that he won’t compromise with corruption. But the suspension of BJP MP, Kriti Azad, who took the lid off the DDCA scam, has shrouded his promise. The PM’s silence on the issue and no enquiry being ordered have further put a question mark over his credentials,” Gandhi told reporters before leaving for New Delhi at Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport in lucknow on Thursday morning.

“Na Khaunga na he khane dunga- this is what the PM had said in the run up to the lok Sabha polls. But when Kirti Azad raised the issue of corruption, he was promptly suspended. Rahul referred to the statement of Kirti Azad’s that corruption was done by a person in the government and he had to pay with `suspension’ from the party. Ab aage aage dekhiye hota hai kya ( lets see what happens in the further)”, he commented without taking any names.

“There are several scams in this government but Modiji has been silent on them and the country wants to know what is stopping him from taking action or even speaking on these issues,” Gandhi asserted charging the PM of shielding tainted ministers in the Union government.

Earlier, the Amethi MP cancelled all his programme on the second day of his visit, except visting the home of late Choudhary Ram Adhar to pay his condolences, and left for Delhi via lucknow on Thursday noon.

On Wednesday speaking to newsmen in Amethi, Rahul Gandhi said that prior to Bihar polls Modi made promises of transforming the state but after the BJP was routed in the polls, he convenienetly forgot Bihar as it it was not a part of the country.

“The PM is busy in his foreign trips but the foreigners are very wise and these are not going to benefit the country,” he said. The Congress VP even accused the PM for inciting tension between Hindus and Muslims during poll campaigning.
