Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mr. Akhilesh Yadav on Friday ordered the immediate suspension of graft accused District Excise Officer of Rae Bareli, Mr. Nirankar Nath Pandey and has directed officials to submit the investigation report of the probe against him on priority basis.
Giving this information, a government spokesman said that Mr. Abhishek Jaiswal, son of Mr. Vijay Kumar Jaiswal, resident of Mahanagar, lucknow had made serious allegations of corruption against the said officer vide a letter dated April 25, 2014 to the Deputy Excise Commissioner, lucknow.
Mr. Jaiswal had also submitted a CD carrying the voice of Mr. Pandey seeking money for a government work. The CD was found to be correct in a probe done by Deputy Excise Commissioner, lucknow. Based on this, Mr. Pandey has been suspended with immediate effect. Joint Excise Commissioner, Meerut zone has been appointed as the investigating officer. He has been asked to submit a report within 30 days.
