Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the officials to ensure adequate medical facilities and cleanliness after a few cases of cholera and diarrhoea were reported in Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) and Siddharth Nagar districts.
“Every patient should be monitored 24x7 and officials should make sure that patients receive the best of treatment and that there is no shortage of medicines and other medical equipment. Surveillance needs to improve further,” the chief minister said while addressing a meeting in Lucknow on Thursday.
To ensure people’s safety, the Yogi government has made arrangements including state-wide surveillance campaigns, spraying of anti-larva chemicals under extensive mass-scale sanitation, fogging and cleanliness drives.
Arrangements have also been made for additional beds, doctors, paramedical staff, medicines and other equipment in hospitals.
Officials were also directed to make people aware of drinking water only after boiling and filtering it.
As per the Health department officials, the government’s special cleanliness campaign to check the spread of communicable diseases and vector-borne diseases in the state has played a major role in bringing down the transmission levels.
The support and cooperation by citizens of the state to the government in controlling the spread of seasonal diseases has also strengthened the fight against communicable and vector-borne diseases.
Reviewing the situation of floods in Uttar Pradesh, the chief minister directed officials to compensate the farmers for the crop loss after assessment in the next 15 days.
“The loss of agricultural crops due to floods and excessive rains should be assessed. Any farmer, whose crop has been damaged, should be compensated as per rules at the earliest. The Revenue and Agriculture departments should complete this work on priority in coordination with each other,” the chief minister said.
