Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath slammed the opposition for creating pandemonium in the Assembly over Deoria shelter home controversy on Monday.
Talking to media persons at the Central hall of the Assembly here on Monday, Yogi Adityanath said, “The government immediately recommend a CBI probe into the incident, ordered probe by SIT (Special Investigation Team) into the incident and also sent all the accused to jail.”
The Chief Minister accused the previous United Progressive Alliance government at the Centre and the Samajwadi Party government in the state of not taking any action against the erring shelter homes.
“It is sad that the Assembly is being used to create unnecessary chaos instead of having discussions. Our government took prompt action in the Deoria shelter home case. It is not hidden who was in power in state and at the Centre when the licence was issued to the shelter home,” he said.
Yogi said that the shelter home was given licence in 2009 and asked who were in the government at that time.
“The opposition parties are only trying to cover up their lapses by blaming the BJP, which took action and scrapped the licence last year,” he added.
The Chief Minister said, “The opposition did not play a democratic role in the Assembly and tried to take the Assembly hostage for drawing political mileage.”
Rebutting the charge of the opposition parties over law and order situation in the state, the Chief Minister said that the investment of Rs 4.68 lakh crore which came during the UP Investors’ Summit itself was proof that the law and order in the state had improved during the BJP rule.
“Investments of Rs 60,000 crore have already materialised and the groundbreaking ceremony was carried out in July and very soon another Rs 50,000 crore investments would be made,” he said.
