Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has mourned the death of Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Syeed saying it is irreparable loss for the people and Kashmir and nation. The 79-year-old Sayeed was admitted to AIIMS in New Delhi, on December 24 after he developed respiratory complications, where he passed away Thursday morning.
In a condolence message Chief Minister said that Sayeed was an experienced and progressive public representative who held high offices like that of the union home minister. He also worked to bring peace and development to the state of J&K, Mr Yadav pointed out.
In his passing away, the Chief Minister said, the country has lost a suave and soft-spoken leader who always had the welfare of the people in his heart. The Chief Minister also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
