The birth anniversary celebration of BJP ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhaya at his birthplace Nagla Chandrabhan (Mathura) is likely to be a big show with top BJP leaders including Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and his ministerial colleagues participating in the seven-day celebration.
Covenor of Pt Deen Dayal Upadhyay memorial committee Banke Bihari Maheshwari said that the celebrations would start at Nagla Chandrabhan from September 18 and continue till 25.
Maheshwari said that RSS chief convener Suresh Chandra will be thechief guest on the first day on September 18.
“Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will address a public gathering the next day which will be attended by MP from Mathura and cinestar Hema Malini and ministers in Yogi government Chaudhri lakshmi Narayan and Srikant Sharma,” he said.
“On September 20, cultural programme and a competition on general awareness will be held while the next day, cabinet minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi will be the chief guest of a function which will centre around women development and their empowerment,” Maheshwari informed.
He said that on September 22, Union Agriculture minister Radha Mohan Singh and his counterpart in UP, Surya Pratap Shahi will address a gathering focussing on problems faced by the farmers.
“A competition on protection of cow will be held on September 23 where Animal Husbandry minister SP Baghel will be the chief guest,” he said.
Another office bearer, Dr Kamal Kaushik informed that a cultural programme will be held on September 24 while the next day a free eye check-up camp will be organised.
