Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav called on governor B l Joshi at the Raj Bhavan and is said to have discussed the recent riots in Muzaffarnagar, on Thursday morning.
Akhilesh Yadav dashed to Raj Bhavan at around 11am and was closeted with the Governor for about 10 minutes, Raj Bhavan sources said. This was the first meeting of the CM with the Governor after the Muzaffarnagar riots. The two were said to have discussed the Muzaffarnagar riots and the action taken by the state government to control it and against the guilty people.
Earlier, it was reported that the Governor in his report to the Centre had indicated that the government lagged in taking decisions to control the riots in Muzaffarnagar and other adjoining areas.
