Charting out state’s development road map Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said that his Government was committed to bring prosperity in Uttar Pradesh and therefore has launched many time bound schemes with focus on power and roads that would improve infrastructure.

“We have a clear cut idea what to do in next fiscal. Budgetary allocations for these projects have been made and all the projects would be finished by 2016,” Yadav said while addressing a press conference here on Wednesday. The development agenda for the next fiscal 2015-16 was released a day after AAP tsunami stuck Delhi throwing signals loud and clear that people want development and discard the party which neglects people’s issues.

“The focus of our party is on development. It is only Samajwadi Party Government that has fulfilled all the promises it had made to the people in short span of two years. Now, we need to expand our horizon and this development agenda is a step towards this direction,” Yadav said. The agenda of development has a total of 165 projects in which 95 are on-going projects while the rest 73 are the new projects. Budgetary allocations have been earmarked for these projects and the grants would be presented in the State Assembly on February 24 next.

The new projects and schemes envisaged by the Akhilesh Yadav Government include Trans-Ganga and Sangam city projects, construction of cycle tracks, simplification of export policies, marketing policy for small and cottage industries, to improve education standard of state universities so that at least two universities come in the top 50 universities, jobs for sportspersons, hostel in Kasturba Gandhi schools. Besides tablets would be given to all the rural state employees and old age homes would be constructed in 25 districts.

Among the old schemes the Agra- lucknow expressway, lucknow Metro, Kanya Vidyadha, Samajwadi Pension schemes etc will continue this fiscal too. “All the new projects along with the old one would be time framed. WE want that projects that this government starts should complete in prescribed time. Earlier we had proposed construction of roads under PPP model but no one took interest. So we have decided to build roads from state’s own finances,” he said.

Chief Minister said in last two year UP has galloped on the path of development. The 108 and 102 ambulance services have been hit with people. Efforts are on to improve power scenario of the state and by 2016 we will be able to tide over the crisis. The Government is working on integrated development of the state combining all sectors, he said.

“In agricultures sector the state is heading towards mechanized farming. Agriculture marketing hubs are being created so that farmers could get new mandis to sell their produce,” he said and added that technology would be used to prevent corruption in the projects like linking all beneficiaries of the welfare scheme with their bank accounts.

Earlier, Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan said that government is concentrating on nine sectors including power, HRD, health, social security, agriculture rural development, urban development and transparency and accountability.
