Aiming to equip the youth with the latest technology for online studies, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath distributed tablets and smartphones to 2,000 young students in Ayodhya on Friday.

Besides distributing tablets/smartphones to students, he inaugurated phase one of Intelligent Traffic Management System set up at a cost of Rs 49.74 crore and Kalash Kunj residential project of Ayodhya Development Authority.

Working to provide employment to the youth, Yogi said, “We are providing smartphones and tablets to one crore youth of the state. Parents of many poor children find it difficult to afford tablets and smartphones and due to COVID-19 pandemic, these gadgets have become more of a basic need than a luxury. Hence, our government decided to bear the cost of these gadgets to educate and empower our future generations.”

Addressing a public gathering in Ayodhya, the chief minister said, “Ayodhya’s development is being envisaged as a spiritual centre, global tourism hub and a sustainable smart city. The day is not far when you will say ‘Muskuraiye Aap Ayodhya Mein Hai’. Our efforts to turn Ayodhya into a city with a traditional soul and modern facilities are progressing on a war footing.”

Yogi further added that the tablet could be used not only for studies but also for online competitive exam preparations. He said a total of 10,000 students from the state preparing for any competitive examination had been selected, and the state government was providing free coaching facilities to them.

“The National Education Policy is being implemented from this session, through which students can connect themselves with latest technology. To provide top-class study material to the students, the state government has signed a memorandum of understanding with Indian information technology giant Infosys,” he said.

Explaining the true concept of Ram Rajya, the chief minister said, “The Bharatiya Janata Party government’s non-appeasement policy was the reason behind the development of every section of society. The act of providing free housing, toilets, LPG connections and electricity to the poor is the real 'Ram Rajya'. The process of development that eluded the state and Ayodhya in the past 70 years was completed to a large extent in a span of just five years.”

Taking a jibe at Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on his statement of Lord Krishna regularly appearing in his dreams, Yogi said, “Those who claim that Lord Krishna came in their dreams must remember that God must be cursing him and his party for the first-ever riot in Kosi Kalan of Mathura in 2016.”

Stating that his government was about to complete five years of good governance, the chief minister said, “This is the same Uttar Pradesh where riots had become a trend during the previous governments. But, after 2017, no riots took place here. Previous governments were a symbol of impoverishment and they only looted people in the name of development.”

Yogi said that under the Intelligent Traffic Management System, automatic traffic systems were being installed at 22 intersections in the first phase and CCTV cameras would also be installed. He said Ayodhya Development Authority was preparing a housing scheme on 14 Kosi Parikrama Marg.

He directed the department concerned to build houses on land freed from the mafia in every city like it was done in Prayagraj.

Urging the youth to get vaccinated as early as possible, Yogi said that his government had directed schools across the state to give two-day leave to children aged 15 to 18 to take the Covid vaccine.
