Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Gola on Saturday where he met the grieving family members of Bharatiya Janata Party’s late MLA Arvind Giri and consoled them for their loss.
Giri died of a heart attack recently.
Paying glowing tributes to the deceased leader, Yogi also assured his family members that the party and the government stood with them in this hour of grief and that the unfulfilled dreams of Arvind Giri would be fulfilled.
The late BJP MLA's brother Janardan Giri said that the chief minister’s assurances gave them much hope and strength.
After leaving the MLA's residence, the chief minister also had darshan at the Shiv temple of Chhoti Kashi.
It is worth mentioning here that Arvind Giri, who was a five-time MLA from Gokarnath assembly constituency of Lakhimpur Kheri, died of heart attack on Tuesday while on way to Lucknow by car.
On Wednesday, he was given a final farewell with full state honours. His last journey was taken out in Gola town before the funeral. Late Arvind Giri belonged to the 'Giri (Goswami) community', so as per tradition he was given ‘samadhi’.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had earlier condoled Giri’s death and had assured his family members that he would visit them.
