The peace in the Yadav family looks fragile as Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has asked the “experienced” leadership of the party to take back youth leaders who were expelled from the party recently saying “these leaders had supported him.”
This is first time Akhilesh Yadav has come in support of the Youth Brigade, also known as Akhilesh brigade in the party. His appeal was caustic as he used the word “experienced” in his appeal. “These youth leaders are dedicated and the senior party leaders should consider withdrawal of the expulsion. These leaders were with us at the time of struggle and should be taken back,” he told reporters at the backdrop of a function held here on Tuesday.
More than 100 youths leaders, including four MlCs, all supporters of Akhilesh Yadav, had been expelled last week by the Samajwadi Party after they raised slogans against Mulayam Singh Yadav and even tried to barge into the house of the party president in lucknow following a family dispute between son Akhilesh and his father.
Among those who were expelled were Sunil Singh Sajan, Anand Bhadauria and Sanjay lathar, all MlCs. Three legislators, Mohd Ebad, state chief of SP youth brigade, Brijesh Yadav, state president of SP Yuvjan Sabha, Gaurav Dubey, national president of SP youth brigade and Digvijay Singh Dev, state chief of Chatra Sabha were also expelled from the party for raising slogans against Mulayam Singh Yadav. The party has also expelled MlC Arvind Yadav, nephew of Ram Gopal Yadav
Akhilesh Yadav defended these leaders saying they had not raised slogans against any persons. They are my supporters and raised slogans in my favour. They have not done any crime which cannot be condoned, he said. State party president Shivpal Singh while ordering expulsion of these leaders had said that these “inexperienced” leaders had raised slogans against Mulayam Singh Yadav and whosoever will speak against Netaji will be shown the door.
“This my fervent appeal to leadership to take these youth leaders back in party,” Akhilesh said. When asked about India’s stand post-Uri incident Chief Minister opposed any move to stop water to Pakistan under the Sindhu Water agreement. “Stopping water to Pakistan is not a solution for this dispute. Indian government should hold talks with Pakistan,” he said. Earlier, addressing a function after inaugurating a mega call centre of the state government here Akhilesh Yadav said that the state government was committed to bring transparency in government working.
“This centre will help in popularizing welfare schemes launched by the Samajwadi Party government. The mega call centre will interact with the beneficiaries of the welfare schemes and will take their feedback and suggestions for better implementation of the schemes,” he said. State IT and electronic department has set up the Call centre and UPDESCo will be the nodal department to run it. In the first phase 20 schemes of 13 departments would be made available in this call centre.
